Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was a track she recorded with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video later released in September. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. The track was released as a stand-alone single in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within its first seven days. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
